Rome, Italy, January 07 -- A view of the iconic Roman Pantheon dome, one of the best preserved Roman structures in the eternal city. Built in 27 BC by the consul Marco Vispanio Agrippa for the emperor Augustus, it was dedicated to all Roman divinities. In the picture we can appreciate the mighty columns and the magnificent dome, still today one of the largest in the world, characterized by an opening called 'oculus' placed at its top. Currently in the Pantheon it is home to a Catholic church and inside there are the tombs of some Italian kings and the remains of the great Renaissance artist Raffaello Sanzio (Raphael). The remains of the Roman temple of the Portico D'Ottavia in the ancient Jewish Ghetto, in the historic heart of the Eternal City.
