Standing 26.3 metres  high and 49.15 metres wide, it is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world.

The Trajan's Forum is among the best preserved archaeological areas in Rome, with the remains of the large market built by the emperor and the temples that were part of this sumptuous portion of the great Roman Imperial Forum. In the background, on the left the famous Trajan's Column and on the right the dome of the church of the Santissimo Nome di Maria at the Trajan Forum. The triumphal arch (Italian: Arco di Settimio Severo), dedicated in AD 203 to commemorate the Parthian victories of Emperor Septimius Severus and his two sons, Caracalla and Publius Septimius Geta, is located at the Northeast end of the Roman Forum. The tourists will walk up through the Arch to Campidoglio and the Renaissance buildings in the background. In the far background is the white marble structure of Piazza Venezia.
