The Giza Complex was once near the ancient Egyptian capital of Memphis, and the Giza plateau is where a number of pharaohs, queens, and nobles of the Fourth Dynasty of ancient Egypt were buried. All three of Giza's pyramids and their elaborate burial complexes were built from roughly 2550 to 2490 B.C. The pyramids were built by Pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure.
