Ancient circular experimental farm structure used by the Inca in Maras, Sacred Valley, Peru
Bogota, Colombia - July 01, 2016: Looking across Plaza Bolivar, in the Andean capital city of Bogota in South America, to the building that is the official place of business for both houses of parliament: the Senate and the Congress. Completed in 1926, it was designed in the 19th Century by the Danish Architect Thomas Reed. Local Colombian people nonchalantly walk past the building of prime importance to the Country, as they go about their daily lives. There are a few international tourists in the image as well. The Colombian national flag flies over the building. There are pigeons all over the square looking for scraps of food. The square slopes from East on the left, to West on the right. The altitude at street level is 8,660 feet above mean sea level. Photo shot in the afternoon sunlight, on a cloudy, overcast day; horizontal format. Copy space.

Colca Canyon is a canyon of the Colca River in southern Peru. It is located about 100 miles (160 kilometers) northwest of Arequipa. It is more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the United States at 4,160 m. However, the canyon's walls are not as vertical as those of the Grand Canyon. The Colca Valley is a colorful Andean valley with towns founded in Spanish Colonial times and formerly inhabited by the Collaguas and the Cabanas. The local people still maintain ancestral traditions and continue to cultivate the pre-Inca stepped terraces.
