Nepenthes, carnivorous plant endemic to southern Madagascar
Nepenthes rajah (pictured in a tropical hot and humid rain forest) is a carnivorous pitcher plant species of the Nepenthaceae family. The plant is endemic to the mountains of Sabah in the Malaysian Borneo. Insects, and particularly ants, comprise its prey. Nepenthes monkey cups tropical pitcher plant family thrives in tropical hot and humid rain forest. The main stronghold of Nepenthes or monkey cups (as they are commonly known) is South East Asia, particularly the Islands of Borneo, Sumatra and the Philippines. Nepenthes tree, Tropical pitcher plants growth in nature
Cobra plant, also called Darlingtonia Californica and California pitcher, is the only species of the genus Darlingtonia of the New World pitcher plant (Sarraceniaceae). The cobra plant is native to swamps in mountain areas of northern California and southern Oregon and uses its carnivorous pitfall traps to supplement its nutritional requirements in poor soil conditions. The plant’s hooded pitcher₋like leaves resemble striking cobras and bear purple-red appendages that look similar to a snake’s forked tongue or a set of fangs.
