Istanbul, Türkiye – April 21, 2023: The amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu (L-400), which can be configured as the V/STOL aircraft carrier of the Turkish Navy, was opened to the public at Sarayburnu Port.
The frigate HMAS Arunta (right), destroyer HMAS Sydney (centre) and amphibious assault ship HMAS Canberra (left) of the Royal Australian Navy.  They are docked at Garden Island, Sydney Harbour, in preparation for an open day to the public during Navy Week, the first open day since the Covid pandemic.  A shadow from a skyscraper in the central business district is starting to make a shadow on the hull of HMAS Canberra.   This image was taken at sunset from Woolloomooloo Bay on 25 February 2023.

One crew member is raising two maritime flags, while the other watches or assists, on the bridge of USS Canberra (LCS 30), an Independence Class combat ship of the US Navy which is docked at Garden Island in Sydney Harbour.  She was in port for her commissioning ceremony on 22 July 2023.  As part of the ceremony, her captain was presented with a kangaroo insignia attached to all ships of the Royal Australian Navy, but decorated in the colours and design of the Stars and Stripes.  That insignia has been attached to the ship and visible on the right.  The name of the ship and serial number is visible on the orange life ring.  A large, padded chair is visible on the bridge. This warning to beware of helicopter rotor wash is painted above the flight deck of HMAS Canberra of the Royal Australian Navy.  She is moored at Garden Island, Sydney Harbour.  A single porthole, with a polished frame, has been built into the ship.  This image was taken from Mrs Macquarie's Chair on an afternoon in Spring.

This ship, which has the status of a passenger ship, took its passengers to commemorate the Gallipoli Wars and anchored in Çanakkale.\n\nThis photograph shows a naval staff member hanging the Turkish flag from the pole and paying homage to it.
