The bridge and superstructure of HMAS Sydney, a Hobart Class destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy.  She is docked at Garden Island, Sydney Harbour. The flag is attached to a flagpole on the bow of HMAS Brisbane, docked next to her.  A post with security cameras on the dock has spikes on the top to deter birds. San Diego, California, USA - January 26, 2008:  “Unconditional Surrender,” a 25-foot, 6,000 pound statue by world-renowned artist J. Seward Johnson commemorating a famous World War II photo was unveiled Feb. 10 at Mole Park in San Diego. Unconditional Surrender is a three-dimensional interpretation of a photo taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt of a Sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square, New York City on Aug. 14, 1945, following the announcement of V-J Day.
The Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship “Mounts Bay” moored at Greenwich Ship Tier Buoys, Greenwich, Greater London on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She is a Bay-Class auxiliary landing ship dock, named after Mounts Bay in Cornwall. She provides logistical support to the Royal Navy and facilitates amphibious operations by offloading troops when required.

Vintage photograph of Officers of Chilean ironclad Blanco Encalada, 1891. Blanco Encalada was an armored frigate built by Earle's Shipbuilding Co. in England for the Chilean Navy in 1875. Blanco Encalada formed part of the congressional forces that brought down President José Manuel Balmaceda in the Chilean Civil War of 1891. She was sunk during that conflict on 23 April 1891, becoming the first warship to be sunk by a self-propelled torpedo.
