An endangered Female Harpy Eagle is seen in a nest with a chick.  This large raptor bird is very rare and shy.  It is cited as endangered, vulnerable (IUCN 3.10 CITES Appendix.  The chick is large but not fully grown.  In this photo, both birds can be seen in the nest.   The Harpy Eagle has the largest claws of all birds in the world.  It is the only Eagle that does not soar, due to its short wingspan.
