Killit (Dereiçi), an almost abandoned ancient Syrian village 5 km from Savur, stands out for its stone buildings. The village was once a large and important Syrian settlement before the emigration and had three churches and three monasteries belonging to the Orthodox, Protestant and Catholic communities. The village was known for its wines and grape production, and the grape harvest tradition still continues in the region. One of the most striking buildings in the village, the Mor Yuhanon Monastry, dates back to the 7th century.
