Montreal, Quebec, Canada - July 30, 2023:  Olympic Stadium and the Olympic complex in Montreal.   This stadium complex was built for the 1976 Summer Olympic Games which took place in Montreal.  Following the Olympics, the stadium has been used for sports and special events.
The National Congress was designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer. It is the postcard of Brasilia. In the larger dome (convex), the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies works, and in the smaller dome (concave), the plenary of the Federal Senate works.
There are many identifiable names visible on this monument which was erected by the Association of Minor Asia and the Association of Minor Asia 'Ionia' Rethymnon. The genocide took place after The Young Turk Revolution involving the years 1914-1923 which impacted the Christian minority Pontic Greeks in Anatolia. The Young Turks wanted to 'Turkify' the Ottoman Empire and so a genocidal campaign took place against non-Turkish minorities. Between 1914-1923, about 353,000 Pontic Greeks were killed and 1.5 million were expelled.
