Paris, France - May 20, 2023: The Nymphs of the Seine on Pont Alexandre III. The Pont Alexandre III is a deck arch bridge that spans the Seine in Paris. It connects the Champs-Élysées quarter with those of the Invalides and Eiffel Tower. The nymph reliefs are at the centres of the arches over the Seine, memorials to the Franco-Russian Alliance. The Nymphs of the Seine has a relief of the arms of Paris, and faces the Nymphs of the Neva with the arms of Imperial Russia. They are both executed in hammered copper over forms by Georges Récipon.

A few rays of sunlight cut an intense blue sky above the statue of an Angel along the Ponte Sant'Angelo (Saint Angel bridge), in the historic and baroque heart of Rome. This bridge was built under the emperor Hadrian in 134 AD. to connect the heart of Rome with his mausoleum, currently Castel Sant'Angelo. A few centuries later, under the pontificate of Pope Clement IX, the architect and sculptor Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini was commissioned to create the current balustrade decorated with ten statues of the Angels of the Passion of Christ. According to tradition, it was Bernini's pupils who sculpted the statues of the Angels in 1669. In 1980 the historic center of Rome was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Detail of the Arc de Triomphe. The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, France, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the centre of Place Charles de Gaulle. The Arc de Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Le Départ de 1792 (or La Marseillaise), by François Rude. The sculptural group celebrates the cause of the French First Republic during the 10 August uprising. Above the volunteers is the winged personification of Liberty. This group served as a recruitment tool in the early months of World War I and encouraged the French to invest in war loans in 1915–1916.

A sculpture over the original entrance to the Central Criminal Court, commonly know as ‘the Old Bailey’ in the street of the same name in the City of London. The entrance is now used only for ceremonial occasions. The sculpture portrays ‘Fortitude, the Recording Angel and Truth’ - Fortitude holds a sword while Truth looks into a mirror. The Recording Angel sits in the centre, writing on a scroll. They are seated above the coat of arms of the City of London Corporation.
