During the Dardanelles War, General Sir Ian Hamilton wanted to take advantage of the depths of this stream and enter Alcitepe. Zigindere Beach, on the other hand, is an area where the British Forces camped to bring supplies to the front. The British named this beach Gully Beach, and the continuation of it, Gully Ravine. Looking out to sea from Gully Beach, the remains of a supply ship are still visible.
