It is an adventurous challenge to pass the arid landscape of Northern Namibia by 4x4. Kunene Region is a beautiful scenic area in Namibia and offers a variety of highlights. The Epupa Falls and the Kunene River are well known travel destinations. The Himba people are living in this part of Africa. The trees are green, because it is wet season. The Makalani Palm or Real Fan Palm (Hyphaene petersiana) and the Baobab are part of the scenery.

Several flower spikes of the giant, ground-dwelling Blue Puya Bromeliad (Puya berteroniana), called the Chagual in Chile.
