Stoneman Lake is a small, natural lake located in the Coconino National Forest of Northern Arizona. Situated just south of the Mogollon Rim, it is within the transition zone between the plateau and the surrounding lowlands. The lake lies in a depression formed from volcanic activity over 8 million years ago. It is situated at 6770 feet above sea level and is surrounded by ponderosa pine forests and rolling hills. The lake has a surface area of about 80 acres. Because it is primarily fed by seasonal rainwater runoff and snowmelt from surrounding hills, the lake's water level can vary significantly from year to year. In this photograph, Stoneman Lake has abundant water from winter’s snowmelt.

Schultz Tank is a water reservoir located in the Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, Arizona. Schultz Tank was originally constructed as a stock tank in the late 19th or early 20th century. Stock tanks were commonly built in the western United States to provide water for livestock, aiding ranchers in managing their herds, especially in arid regions. Over the years, Schultz Tank has also been used for various purposes, including serving as a water source for wildlife and as a recreational spot for hiking and nature observation. The tank is situated in the San Francisco Peaks area, which is known for its scenic beauty and diverse ecosystem. Schultz Tank, Schultz Peak and Schultz Pass, were named for Charles H. Schulz (original spelling), a sheep rancher who lived in the pass. Schulz was one of the earliest settlers in Flagstaff, arriving from Texas in 1880 with his herd of sheep. This photograph of Schultz Tank was taken from the Tonteel Trail in the Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.
