Ephedra viridis, known by the common names green Mormon tea, green ephedra, and Indian tea, is a species of Ephedra. It is indigenous to the Western United States, where it is a member of varied scrub, woodland, desert, and open habitats. Lake Matese is the highest karst lake in Italy, located at the foot of Mount Miletto (2050 m asl) and Mount Gallinola (1923 m asl) in the Matese mountain range, in the municipalities of San Gregorio Matese and Castello del Matese in the province of Caserta. It has no tributaries, but is filled with waters coming from the melting of the snows of Mount Miletto and Gallinola Matese and from some perennial springs. Many types of Matese anatidae find refuge in the Matese marsh vegetation that characterizes Lake Matese: Matese mallard, Matese tobacco duck, Matese pochard, Matese garganey, Matese coot. The occasional presence of the Matese white stork has also been reported. Matese fish species include Matese pike, Matese trout, Matese tench, Matese carp, Matese perch, Matese eel.

In Northern Arizona, especially in higher elevations such as the Flagstaff area, you can experience stunning fall colors from aspens, oaks, cottonwoods and other trees. Oak trees are not as numerous or well-known for their fall colors as aspen trees. However, the oak leaves sometimes turn shades of deep red or maroon during the fall, adding some variety to the landscape. These oak trees were photographed from the Arizona Trail on McMillan Mesa in Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.
