This is an original unsigned 17th century painting. The artist is unknown but it is in the style of Sir Peter Lely (Dutch/British, 1618-1680). A portrait of Anna Maria Talbot (1642-1702), Countess of Shrewsbury from 1659-1668 by virtue of her marriage to Francis Talbot the 11th Earl of Shrewsbury, England. Francis Talbot died from wounds received in a duel with Anna's lover, the second Duke of Buckingham. In a beat-up gilt wood frame.

Weimar, Germany - December 12, 2018: Altar in Sts Peter and Paul Church, also known as Herderkirche (Herder Church). The altar was created in 1552-1555 by Lucas Cranach the Elder and his son Lucas Cranach the Younger.
Between two rather less spectacular memorials on the wall in St Nicholas’ Chapel in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, Eastern England, is this interesting memorial to Thomas Snelling and his wife Margaret, who are kneeling an facing each other each side of a prayer desk. Their daughter and three sons are depicted below, the youngest boy in his cradle. A descriptive plaque can be seen below the children’s figures. The current St Nicholas Chapel was built in the early 15th century as a ‘chapel of ease’ granted to the monks of the priory church of St Margaret (now King’s Lynn Minster).

They were depicted as composite creatures with the head and fore-parts of a horse and the serpentine-tail of a fish. In mosaic art they were often had green scales and fish-fin manes and appendages.
