Karima, Sudan - April 29, 2010: People in the oasis of Karima farming fields, next to the dilapidated archeological remains of Napata, Jebel Barkal and its funerary pyramids in the Nubian desert in northern Sudan. Jebel Barkal is a mountain located in modern Karima town on a large bend of the Nile River. Napata was a city-state of ancient Nubia funded in the 15th century BC, on the west bank of the Nile. The pyramids are funerary elements of the necropolis for the Nubian kings and queens, also known as the Black Pharaohs. There are more pyramids in Sudan tan in Egypt.
