The Pasteur Institute (Institut Pasteur) is a French non-profit private foundation dedicated to the study of biology, micro-organisms, diseases, and vaccines. It is named after Louis Pasteur, who made some of the greatest breakthroughs in modern medicine at the time, including pasteurization and vaccines for anthrax and rabies. The institute was founded in 1887. For over a century, the Institut Pasteur has been at the forefront of the battle against infectious disease. Since 2020, the Pasteur Institute has been working on research into the vaccine against the Covid-19 coronavirus. Boston, Massachusetts, USA - January 22, 2024: Rear view of the equestrian statue of George Washington in the Boston Public Garden. The sculpture by Thomas Ball was commissioned in 1859, modeled in 1864, and cast and dedicated in 1869. The bronze statue measures approximately 22 x 6 x 15 ft, and rests on a granite base. The monument was conceived in an effort to present Massachusetts as an artistic center. Back Bay neightborhood buildings in the background.

Copenhagen, Denmark - May 3, 2024: Public equestrian statue of Absalon, the founder of the city of Copenhagen, Denmark. The statue was erected by Copenhagen Municipality back in the year 1902 - 122 years ago! The statue was made by sculptor Wilhelm Bissen (1836-1913) and the statue has to this day been permanently placed on the public square Højbro Plads in the center of the city.

The monument is also known as the Golden Wedding Monument ('Guldbryllupsmonumentet') and was built for the golden wedding of King Christian IX and Queen Louise on 26 May 1892. The monument was unveiled 1897.
