A suggestive view of the imposing archaeological area of the Theatre of Marcellus, located between the roman Jewish Ghetto (right) and the Capitoline hill or Campidoglio (Roman Capitol), in the historic core of Ancient Rome. Built in the southern area of the ancient Campus Martius, the Theatre of Marcellus it was completed in 13 BC and formally inaugurated in 12 BC from the Emperor Augustus, taking its name from his nephew Marcus Claudius Marcellus who died in 23 BC. The remaining columns (center) refer to the Temple of Apollo Sosianus, built starting from 413 BC and subsequently expanded during the Dynasty of the Augustus emperor. Teos (Ancient Greek: Τέως) or Teo was an ancient Greek city on the coast of Ionia, on a peninsula between Chytrium and Myonnesus. It was founded by Minyans from Orchomenus, Ionians and Boeotians, but the date of its foundation is unknown. Teos was one of the twelve cities which formed the Ionian League. The city was situated on a low hilly isthmus. Its ruins are located to the south of the modern town Sığacık in the Seferihisar district of Izmir Province, Turkey.
