At this event there was a large network of trenches and dugouts to show guests and visitors just what life was like for the soldier of the second world war. They ate, drank, shaved, wrote letters, smoked and slept in small dugouts exactly like these.\n\nThis image was taken at an outdoor event over the weekend of 11th-13th August 2023, where reenactors, living historians, and members of the public can come to experience what life was like during the second world war, with live demonstrations, battle reenactments, and static displays from all over the world.
