Lararium of House of the Vettii, Pompeii.  \nA genius between two Lares,and the snake; Traditional religious image in the houses of ancient Rome.\nIn classical Roman religion, a genius loci ( plural genii loci ) was the protective spirit of a place. It was often depicted in religious iconography as a figure holding attributes such as a cornucopia, patera ( libation bowl ) or snake.\nIn the center stands the Genius, young and unbearded. On each side of him stands a wreathed Lar, holding rhyton and situla. The lower end of each rhyton has the form of a fore-part of a goat. In the lower zone of the same panel a crested and bearded serpent with brown back and yellow belly glides through plants towards the altar. This painted square altar is shown at the right edge of the panel. On the altar are an egg and some fruits.

Jason and Pelias, from the House of Jason, or of the Fatal Loves, Pompeii - Casa di Giasone.\nPelias, king of Iolcos, stops on the steps of a temple as he recognises young Jason by his missing sandal.\nPelias fue un rey de Yolco en la mitología griega. Era hijo de Tiro y del dios Poseidón y hermano gemelo de Neleo. Es particularmente conocido por ser el monarca antagonista que envió a Jasón en busca del vellocino de oro, dentro de la historia legendaria de los Argonautas.\nThe House of the Golden Cupids was first excavated between 1903 and 1905. It is situated on the via del Vesuvio, and is believed to have been owned by Gnaeus Poppaeus Habitus, a wealthy local figure.
A possible first century Greek Manuscript of the New Testament, published as a facsimile by Constantine Simonides in 1861. Simonides was a convicted forger and although this facsimile was denounced as a forgery, it has never been proven.
Ephesus terrace houses are located on the hill, opposite the Hadrian Temple. Also called as the houses of rich, important for the reason give us information about family life during  the Roman period. They were built according to the Hippodamian plan of the city in which roads transected each other at right angels.  The oldest building dates back into the 1C BC and continued in use as residence until the 7C AD. Ruins at Ephesus, Turkey. Art work.
