Flowers greenish-yellow, often with reddish margins and streaks, borne in a slender spike, often many-flowered, each flower manikin-like, with the sepals and petals forming a close hood; lip 12-15mm, pendent, the lateral lobes forming short, narrow ‘arms’ and the central lobe divided into narrow legs; spurless.\nHabitat: Grassland, field boundaries, abandoned quarries, banks and open scrub, rarely along woodland margins, on calcareous soils, to 1500m.\nFlowering Season: May-June.\nDistribution: S & SE Britain, Belgium, Holland, France and Germany.\n\nThis Picture is made during a long weekend in the Eifel (Germany) in June 2019.
