Florence, Italy -- The magnificent bronze statue of the Perseus lifting the head of Medusa after cutting it off, realized by Benvenuto Cellini and conserved in the Loggia Dei Lanzi, in Piazza della Signoria. Commissioned by Cosimo de Medici, the statue represents the cutting of the republican experiences of the city and of political divisions.
