Cosimo I de' Medici was the Duke of Florence and the first Grand Duke of Tuscany. Florence is the capital city of the region of Tuscany. For the uninitiated, Piazza del Campidoglio is a square open to the public and to access it, payment of the ticket is not required despite the fact that inside it there are a number of artifacts of inestimable artistic value.\n\nThe Palazzo Senatorio is located in Piazza del Campidoglio on the homonymous hill in Rome, and is flanked by the Palazzo dei Conservatori and the Palazzo Nuovo. Today it is the administrative headquarters of the special municipality of Rome. It is the oldest existing town hall in the world.\n\nThe Capitoline Hill contains few ancient ground-level ruins, as they are almost entirely covered up by Medieval and Renaissance palaces that surround a piazza, a significant urban plan designed by Michelangelo.
Churches and monasteries, together with palaces and stately houses, are the historical heritage of Antequera, such as the Palacio de Nájera, seat of the Museo de la Ciudad de Antequera (MVCA), overlooking the Plaza Coso Viejo. The equestrian statue of Fernando I in the square is a work by Jésus Gavira Alba dated 2002.
