Mission San Jose, San Jose y San Miguel de Aguayo, is one of five existing missions along the San Antonio River.  Built by Spaniards to support their quest for exploration from New Spain (present day Mexico), they eventually became centers for spreading the Catholic faith to frontier Indians.  The five missions within the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park florished between 1747 and 1775, but still experienced raids by local Comanche and Apache Indians.  Mission San Jose was knows as the Queen of the Missions, due to its extensive grounds and fortified compound.
The view of Jefferson's Monticello is unobstructed when taken from the back yard.  The rear portico is almost as impressive.

Newtonville, New York, United States of America - April 26, 2017. Pruyn House, a historic home located in Newtonville in Albany County, New York. It was built between 1824 and 1836 and combines late Federal and early Greek Revival style. It is a two-story, rectangular five bay wide, center entrance dwelling. It is open to the public as the historical and cultural arts center for the Town of Colonie.
Thaba Bosiu plateau, Phuthiatsana Valley, Lesotho: 19th century ruins of the residence of King Moshoeshoe I, the first king of Lesotho - Moshoeshoe I (1786-1870) was born in Menkhoaneng, in the north of what later became Lesotho - At the age of 34, Moshoeshoe formed his own clan and became its supreme chief, equipping his forces with firearms and horses - In 1843, Moshoeshoe and the Briton George Thomas Napier signed the Napier Treaty, which confirmed Basotho possession of the western frontier. Moshoeshoe was thus recognized for the first time by the European powers in the region as the leader of the Basotho. Moshoeshoe died shortly after the 1868 agreement placing his nation under British protectorate, in 1870. The area is in the tentative Unesco world heritage list.
