Utoro is a small working, fishing port which also is a tourist resort with hat springs. Utoro is starting point for discovering Shiretoko national park, which is one of the most remote regions in all of Japan with Goko Lakes, series of volcanoes with constant smoke and hot springs. It is part of UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located far north east of Hokkaido and Japan. This is place where you can see the last Ainu people and culture and maybe hear some Ainu words. Ainu are native to Hokkaido.

These rootless craters form when piping hot thin-flowing molten lava flows over a wetland or boggy areas. The hot lava boils the water of the wetlands and the steam pressure causes explosions, creating clusters of pseudocraters.

From above, we see a typical Norwegian seaside view with charming red and white wooden fishermen's huts, called Rorbuer, next to the peaceful harbor. The calm fjord waters reflect the scenery like a mirror, surrounded by a village. Nearby, traditional boats are docked, showing the village's long history of fishing. Along the shore, wooden racks for drying fish tell of the local traditions and the important role fishing plays in this community.
There are mountains plunging into the sea from hundreds of metres, fjords, tall mountain peaks, northern lights and midnight sun.
