Big Blue Octopus Octopus cyanea occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific from eastern Africa to the Hawaiian Islands in a depth range from 0-150m, max. mantle length 22cm with arms to at least 80 cm. \nBig blue octopuses are found living in muddy, sandy, or rocky bottoms, and in seagrass beds. They create lairs or dens in crevices or coral rubbles within coral reefs. These dens aren't used for long term; on average individuals spend up to 35 days in one den. The average lifespan of big blue octopuses is 12 to 15 months.\nThis juvenile specimen was encountered in the Triton Bay, Indonesia \n3°54'41.052 S 134°7'18.204 E at 12m depth

Banded Sea Snake Laticauda colubrina on a outer reef swimming to surface, looking for fresh water. Sea Snakes need to drink fresh water and regularly come onto land for that purpose. The Banded Sea Snake Laticauda colubrina occurs in tropical Indo-Pacific. Males maximum length 88 cm, females 142 cm. The Banded Sea Snake is often seen in large numbers in the company of hunting parties of giant trevally (Caranx ignobilis) and goatfish. Their cooperative hunting technique is similar to that of the moray eel, with the Snakes flushing out prey from narrow crevices and holes. \nThis specimen was encountered in the Triton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia, 3°55'0.7321 S 134°6'7.7298 E.

Blacktip Grouper Epinephelus fasciatus occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific from the Red Sea to South Africa and eastward to the Pitcairn Group, north to Japan and Korea, south to the Arafura Sea, southern Queensland in Australia and Lord Howe Island in a depth range from 4-160m (usually 20-45m), max. length 40cm. Blacktip Grouper is common in outer reef slopes at depths below 15 m, and also occurs in protected bays and lagoons as shallow as 4 m. \nThis species exhibits a combination of simultaneous and sequential hermaphroditism. Smaller individuals within a social group are simultaneous hermaphrodites, while the largest often lose female function and reproduce exclusively as a male. \nThis specimen looks out from a Barrel Sponge Xestospongia testudinaria. This sponge species occurs widely distributed in the tropical Indo-Pacific in a depth range from 2-50m. Specimen in the intertidal zones remain small with 10-20cm diameter, below they can grow to impressing sizes, measuring up to 2.4 meters in height and width. The life span of these filter animals is many hundreds of years.\nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia \n3°56'26.083 S 134°7'36.6325 E at 13m depth
