Bright Euphorbia plant in a park
Euphorbias are interesting plants because of their obvious symmetry. This has led to the breeding of garden varieties such as this (Euphorbia characias). Euphorbias come in many sizes, and the world's only Euphorbia forest is (allegedly) in Lake Nakuru National Park in Kenya. This forest can be seen in the last photo link (below).

Daphne odora (winter daphne) is a species of flowering plant in the family Thymelaeaceae and is native to China. It is sometimes called Spurge olive, but this name is shared by other plants. It is an evergreen shrub with fragrant, fleshy, pale-pink, tubular flowers. D. odora 'Aureomarginata' has yellow edged leaves, and is hardier and more suitable to cultivation. Shallow depth of field with focus placed over the nearest flower heads.

Sedum palmeri (common name: Palmer's sedum, Palmer's stonecrop) is an attractive evergreen, perennial subshrub with rosettes of thick green leaves at the ends of flexible stems. It grows up to 25cm tall with spread of 50cm. Leaves turn reddish-pink in winter, or if grown in strong sunlight. Flowers are golden yellow, star-shaped and appear in late winter or early spring.
