Wallabies are in the same family as kangaroos. Like kangaroos, they get around by hopping and raise young in a pouch in the female’s belly. They are plant eaters; spending the dawn and dusk hours eating grasses and other plants, and usually rest out of site during broad daylight. The red-necked wallaby is a medium-sized, long-eared kangaroo with reddish fur across its shoulders and the back of its neck. The rest of the fur is grayish-tan, turning white on the belly and chest. Like all wallabies and kangaroos, they have powerful lower legs and tail. Red-necked wallabies are most closely related to the Red Kangaroo.

Tapir in the open field, grazing tapir, South American tapir walking on Gras, South American tapirs in the cage, View of a South American tapir (Tapirus terrestris)\n\nTapirs are large, herbivorous mammals belonging to the family Tapiridae. They are similar in shape to a pig, with a short, prehensile nose trunk. Tapirs inhabit jungle and forest regions of South and Central America and Southeast Asia. They are one of three extant branches of Perissodactyla (odd-toed ungulates), alongside equines and rhinoceroses. Only a single genus, Tapirus, is currently extant. Tapirs migrated into South America during the Pleistocene epoch from North America after the formation of the Isthmus of Panama as part of the Great American Interchange. Tapirs were formerly present across North America, but became extinct in the region at the end of the Late Pleistocene, around 12,000 years ago.
A Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby in its natural habitat.
In the tranquil setting of its native Australian bushland habitat, an eastern grey kangaroo relaxes under the cooling shade of a tree, its soft fur blending with the natural hues of the grassy terrain. With a posture of serene repose, the kangaroo embodies the essence of peacefulness and solitude amidst the quietude of the wilderness. This moment captures a glimpse into the daily life of Australia's iconic marsupial, where moments of rest and relaxation under the canopy of native trees are essential for conserving energy in between grazing and social interactions within its natural ecosystem.
