Stuttgart, Germany - January, 31 - 2022: The Johanneskirche Stuttgart am Feuersee is one of the architectural highlights in the west of Stuttgart. The neo-Gothic Johanneskirche was built between 1865 and 1876 by the architect Christian Friedrich von Leins and was Stuttgart's first new church after the Reformation. The tower, originally 66m high, and the church interior were badly damaged by bombing raids in 1943 and 1944. During the reconstruction, the vault in the nave and the spire were initially not restored for financial reasons. Today, many see this tower as a memorial against war.
