Dhalkut Wilayat, Dhofar Governorate, Oman: incense tree (Boswellia sacra) in the wilderness, mountains near the Yemeni border- the Frankincense tree or olibanum tree is a tree in the Burseraceae family, it is the main representative of the genus Boswellia, from which frankincense is extracted - The resin is harvested via incisions in the trunk or branches of the tree and removing a narrow strip of bark. A milky sap flows out, which coagulates on contact with air and which is then collected by hand - Tentative Unesco world heritage site, the area as a whole including Dhofar region in Oman and Hawf region in Yemen has been described as a center of plant diversity, and as a 'fog oasis' in the Arabian Peninsula which is predominantly arid.

Agate is a microcrystalline variety of quartz, chiefly chalcedony, cryptocrystalline form of silica. Although agates may be found in various kinds of rock, they are classically associated with volcanic rocks but can be common in certain metamorphic rocks. Most agates occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or ancient lavas where they represent cavities originally produced by the disengagement of volatiles in the molten mass which were then filled, wholly by siliceous matter deposited in regular layers upon the walls.
