Bermuda archipelago: aerial view of Bermuda, the most significant islands are connected by bridges and appear to form one landmass - blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and from the right the islands of St George, Higgs and Horseshoe, Hen, Peggy, Whalers, Governor, Paget, Smith, Brooks, Oswego, St. David (airport), Nonsuch, Coney, Bermuda, Ireland, Somerset. The archipelago consists of about 360 coral islands, of which only about 20 are inhabited. The island of Grand Bermuda is by far the largest at 39.3 km². The main island is bordered by Somerset Island to the northwest and Saint George's Island to the northeast. Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory.

Tarawa Atoll, Kiribati: aerial view from the eastern end (Bikenibeu, Bonriki) with the south on the left and north on the right, surrounded by the coral reef barrier - Tarawa is an atoll in the Gilbert Islands, the most populous archipelago in Kiribati. Tarawa is the former capital of the British colony of Gilbert and Ellice Islands. Part of the atoll is occupied by the country's capital, South Tarawa. Tarawa has a largely Micronesian population. During World War II, Tarawa was occupied by the Japanese Empire and in 1943 it was the site of the bloody Battle of Tarawa.

Island of Efate, Vanuatu: aerial view - west part of the island, Mele Bay and Pango Peninsula - Vanuatu, an archipelago in the South Pacific, is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change due to its geographical characteristics, including low-lying islands and exposure to extreme weather events. Rising sea levels threaten to submerge coastal areas and freshwater sources, while increased intensity of cyclones, droughts, and heavy rainfall pose risks to agriculture, infrastructure, and local livelihoods. The country's economy, largely dependent on tourism and agriculture, faces significant challenges as ecosystems and natural resources deteriorate. In response, Vanuatu has been proactive in advocating for global climate action, emphasizing the need for sustainable development and resilience-building strategies to protect its communities and environment.

Funafuti Atoll, Tuvalu: aerial view of the south part of the atoll - lagoon surrounded by islets - Motuloa (left), Telele (center) and Funafal (right) islets, Avalau, Te Afuafou, Tengasu, Tutanga and Falaoigo island in the background - Tuvalu, a small island nation sinking in the Pacific Ocean, is one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change. With its highest point only about 4.5 meters (15 feet) above sea level, Tuvalu faces an existential threat from rising sea levels caused by global warming. The country is experiencing coastal erosion, saltwater intrusion into freshwater supplies, and more frequent and severe storms. These challenges are threatening the habitability of the islands, potentially forcing the population to relocate in the future. Tuvalu has become a vocal advocate for global climate action, urging larger nations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide support for climate adaptation measures in vulnerable countries.
