Glennallen, Alaska, USA, January 9, 2021 Alaska Musher guides dogs on the trail as they begin the long race through snow, trees, and all that the Copper Basin trail puts before them.  The start of this years race was a warm one for the area.  Temperatures of 15 above presented a different challenge for the teams, who prefer temperatures around -20.  The temperatures and challenges of the trail made this 300 mile race a true test for both dogs and mushers.  This race is a preliminary race for the Iditarod race.

The dogs work in tandem to run the race towards victory. The joy on these dogs is apparent. The dogsled dogs have been well trained. It is apparent that they are enjoying the race and are working well together.
