Buddleja davidii , also known as summer lilac, butterfly-bush, or orange eye, is native to Sichuan and Hubei provinces in central China, and also Japan.  It is widely used as an ornamental plant.
Deciduous shrub to 4m, with hairless, greyish, angled young twigs; buds with scales. Leaves palmate with 3, occasionally 5, toothed lobes, usually hairy beneath. Flowers white, in broad flat-topped clusters, 4-5-10.5cm across; inner flowers fertile, 4-7mm, surrounded by a few large sterile flowers, 15-20mm. Ripe berry red.\nHabitat: Woodland, fen Carr, on wet soils.\nFlowering Season: June-July.\nDistribution: Throughout Europe, except the far north.\n\nGuelder Rose grows in the Netherlands in Hedgerows, Woodlands and Dunes and also planted in Parks and Gardens.
