Eyam, United Kingdom - January 1, 2016: In 1665 residents of these cottages succumbed to the Bubonic Plague outbreak in the Peak District village of Eyam in Derbyshire, UK. The  Bubonic plague ran its course over 14 months and one account states that it killed at least 260 villagers, with only 83 surviving out of a population of 350.
