Une chapelle à Plouay, en Bretagne
The Sint-Rochuskapel chapel in the hamlet of Kamp between Aijen and Well. The chapel founded in 1715 by Derck Daemen. The chapel was badly damaged in 1945, but rebuilt in 1959. The chapel has a three-sided closed choir and a gable roof on which a roof turret is located. In it hangs a bell that was cast by Peter Fuchs in 1722. In the chapel there is a wooden gallery with a railing. This one is in the late Louis XVI style. A Baroque altar (around 1700) and a statue of Saint Roch from the 17th century come from the church of Schin op Geul.

The photo shows a stone cross and a church silhouette from a low angle, creating a unique view of these religious icons. The cross towers over the frame, while the church stands out against the clear blue sky. The church’s architecture points to the sky, as if inviting the faithful to approach the heavens. The sunlight in this photo evokes the idea of divine light. It illuminates the cross and the church, making them glow with a special brightness, as if they are filled with the light of God. The low angle view makes the viewer feel awe and wonder, as if they are gazing up at these symbols of faith from a respectful and humble position. It’s a photo that encourages contemplation and reflection, asking the viewer to think about the deeper significance of these religious icons and their role in our world.
