The Striped Surgeonfish (Acanthurus lineatus) is a species of marine fish commonly found in coral reefs and rocky areas of the Indo-Pacific region. They are characterized by their elongated, oval-shaped body with bold, blue stripes running vertically along their sides. The body coloration ranges from pale greenish-grey to dark brownish-green, with a white belly. They have a sharp spine at the base of their tail that can be used for defense and territorial disputes. Striped Surgeonfish feed primarily on algae, but may also consume small invertebrates. They play an important role in maintaining the health of coral reefs by controlling the growth of algae.
