Originally celebrated for its innovative design and brutalist architecture, the building reflects Rudolph's distinctive style with its concrete forms, interconnected spaces, and unique spatial dynamics.\n\nBrutalism (named after the French term “béton brute,” concede that is left raw or unfinished after it is cast.) The style has gone out of favor since its heyday in the 1960’s and 1970’s. \n\nThe building was renamed “Rudolph Hall” after its architect, and the School of Art moved to its own building in 2000.
