The shark's keen eyes and pointed snout are prominent features, while its blue coloration is characteristic of the species. The photo provides a unique and detailed view of the shark's anatomy and behavior, and serves as a valuable scientific record of this important marine predator. It is a reminder of the need to study and protect these creatures, which play a vital role in maintaining the health and balance of our oceans.

Underwater image of baby lemon shark swimming in mangrove forest.\n Mangroves are plants that can live in saltwater. These important plants not only create a refuge for a vast number of marine animals, birds and reptiles but also play an important role in countering coastal erosion. \n\nThe dense network of roots and branches retain sediments and create a natural barrier protecting coastal communities against the more and more frequent floodings and hurricanes. \n\nFurther, mangroves have the capacity to sequester up to 10 times more CO2 per area compared to other forest ecosystems. Therefore these habitats serve as a blue carbon sink.\n\nUnfortunately, destruction of these important habitats due to development currently happens on a large scale worldwide.

Grey Reefshark or Blacktail Reef Shark Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos occurs in the Indo-West and Central Pacific on continental and insular shelves and oceanic waters adjacent to them. The species is common on coral reefs, often in deeper areas near drop-offs to the open sea, in atoll passes, and in shallow lagoons adjacent to areas of strong currents in a depth range from 1-275m. Max. length female 172cm, male 255cm. Palau announced 2009 world's first shark sanctuary, banned all commercial shark fishing within its exclusive economic zone. 600000 sq km (230,000 sq mi) of ocean are protected now. As a result, divers see more sharks here than almost anywhere else! A Live Sharksucker Echeneis naucrates is attached at this specimen.
