Karnak Temple, Luxor, Egypt - July 21, 2022: The Karnak Temple Complex, commonly known as Karnak  comprises a vast mix of decayed temples, pylons, chapels, and other buildings near Luxor, Egypt. Construction at the complex began during the reign of Senusret I (reigned 1971–1926 BCE) in the Middle Kingdom (around 2000–1700 BCE) and continued into the Ptolemaic Kingdom (305–30 BCE), although most of the extant buildings date from the New Kingdom. \n\nIt is part of the monumental city of Thebes (Luxor), and in 1979 it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List along with the rest of the city.

La Paz, Bolivia - April 26, 2008: A 2000 year old archway at Tiwanaku Pre-Inca site near La Paz in Bolivia, South America. Tiwanaku (Tiahuanaco or Tiahuanacu) is a Pre-Columbian archaeological site. The 'Gate of the Sun' is a megalithic solid stone arch or gateway constructed by the ancient Tiwanaku people over 1500 years ago. Some elements of Tiwanaku iconography spread throughout Peru and parts of Bolivia. Although there have been various modern interpretations of the mysterious inscriptions found on the object, the carvings that decorate the gate are believed to possess astronomical or astrological significance and may have served as a calendar.

The Place de la Concorde (French: 'Concord Square') is one of the major public squares in Paris, France. \nThe centrepiece of the place is an ancient Egyptian obelisk decorated with hieroglyphics exalting the reign of the pharaoh Ramesses II. It is one of two which the Egyptian government gave to the French in the 19th century. The other one stayed in Egypt, too difficult and heavy to move to France with the technology at that time. On September 26, 1981, President François Mitterrand formally returned the title of the second obelisk to Egypt. The obelisk once marked the entrance to the Luxor Temple.
