Dornie, Kyle Of Lochalsh Scotland: october 9th of 2023 - Eilean Donan Castle is a picturesque and iconic Scottish landmark, located on a small tidal island at the point where three sea lochs meet in the western Highlands of Scotland. The castle is recognized around the world and is one of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish Highlands. The castle history is quite dramatic; it was partially destroyed in a Jacobite uprising in 1719 and lay in ruins for about 200 years. It was then restored to its former glory by Lieutenant Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap, with the restoration completed in 1932

6th June 2021: Coastal path viewpoint of St Andrews Castle ruin, on the Fife coastline, overlooking the North Sea, on the east coast of Scotland. Located in the Royal Burgh of St Andrews, the castle dates back to 1189. It is a famous landmark and visitor attraction for those coming to the popular university town of St Andrews. It used to be the home of the wealthy and powerful bishops, before Protestant Reformation, when St Andrews was the ecclesiastical centre of Scotland. Now maintained and looked after by Historic Environment Scotland.

The entrance to Tonbridge Castle in Kent, England. After William the Conqueror took England at the Battle of Hastings in 1066, his kinsman Richard Fitz Gilbert was tasked with guarding the crossing of the River Medway. He built a simple Motte-and-bailey castle. The castle was later besieged in 1088 when Fitz Gilber's descendants rebelled against William's son, King William II. The king had the castle and Tonbridge burnt to the ground in revenge. By 1100, a new wooden castle was replaced with a stone shell keep and in 1295 a stone wall encircled the town. The castle was used to safekeep the great seal of England for a while when King Edward I visited France. In 1793, the mansion was built, and both buildings are now Grade I listed.

Lews Castle is a Victorian-era castle located west of the town of Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland. It was built in the years 1844–51 as a country house for Sir James Matheson who had bought the whole island a few years previously with his fortune from the Chinese Opium trade. It was designed by the Glasgow architect Charles Wilson.

Framlingham Castle is a castle in the market town of Framlingham in Suffolk in England. An early motte and bailey or ringwork Norman castle was built on the Framlingham site by 1148, but this was destroyed by Henry II of England in the aftermath of the Revolt of 1173–1174. Also know for being the 'Castle on the Hill' that Ed Sheeran sings about.
