The sulphur-crested cockatoo (Cacatua galerita) is a sizable white cockatoo commonly spotted in wooded regions across Australia, New Guinea, and select Indonesian islands. These birds often thrive in significant numbers locally, occasionally causing issues due to their abundant presence, earning them the label of pests. Recognized for their high intelligence, they hold a prominent place in aviculture, yet they may pose challenges as pets due to their demanding nature.
