The new port will be protected by an 11-km long seawall on the western edge of the land reclamation. The necessary protection will be provided by a hard seawall, fronted by an offshore block dam. Maasvlakte 2 is in line with the country's long struggle with the water, from the impolderings like those of Leeghwater and the IJsselmeerpolders to the Delta Works.

Another example of a seawall only this one made with steel plates. I love the way this turned out. I used Nik Silver Effects Pro to convert to black and white. Then I used the tool antique plate II. I am kind of new to Nik software but can't believe I was't a fan before this.
