This Basilica, from the early Christian era, is located on the top of the Esquiline hill in the Monti district, also famous for the presence of numerous churches, Renaissance palaces and a part of the Roman Forum. An iconic place for art lovers, the famous Pauline Chapel is preserved inside, while according to tradition the ceiling of the Basilica is made up of the first gold from Peru and donated to the Catholic Church by the Crown of Spain. Dublin, Ireland - February 2, 2019: the front elevation / facade of the General Post Office on O'Connell Street in Dublin's city centre.  The building was designed by Francis Johnson in the neoclassical Greek Revival style and completed in 1818.  It is the headquarters of An Post, the government owned national postal service.  During the 1916 Easter Rising, a pivotal moment in the struggle for Irish independence from Great Britain, the building became the headquarters for the rebellion.  It was destroyed by the British forces and rebuilt in 1929 by the Irish Free State.
