God instructed him to write on a scroll a message for the people. Jeremiah and Baruch worked on that scroll, but it was later burned by Jehoiachim. Jeremiah was eventually arrested and put in prison. Upon his release, he fled to Egypt. He shared a message of hope and redemption with the exiles.
