Brest, France - July 14 2022: The Étoile du Roy ('King's Star') is a three-masted sixth-rate frigate, designed to represent a generic warship during the age of sail, with her design greatly inspired by HMS Blandford (1741).
Built in 1801, a fort on Castle Island was built by the war department on the remains of previous forts built by the British.  The fort helped protect Boston from British attack during the War of 1812. The  monument in the foreground is dedicated to Donald McKay, the builder of the famous clipper ships Flying Cloud and Sovereign of the Seas.
