In Simiane La Rotonde, Alpes de Haute Provence, France, on 22 August 2021 the importance of the liberation of Provence in 1944 was honoured by people dressed in uniforms and clothing of the time and some driving vintage vehicles. Four Associations were involved in the activity. There was not a particular program other than for the actors to circulate amongst the onlookers, depicting the dress and somewhat of the feeling of the relief and importance of the liberation of Provence. In this image we see a war helmet and goggles attached to a motor vehicle.
A close up photo of the assortment of tools and equipment which are stored on the side of armoured tanks. \n\nThe box may contain tools or servicing materials for the tank, there are mounting hooks and blocks which often carry spare track links for repairs in the field, and more modern machines often have mounting points for Reactive Armour. The steel cable can be used for towing vehicles, or for pulling wreckage and blockages from the vehicle's path. A tank needs to carry all the things it might need in the field with it at all times, but as the inner compartment is often cramped or filled with combat necessary materials, everything else is usually stored externally.\n\nModern tanks have developed to an unimaginable degree from their first inception in 1916, however the premise remains the same: An armoured cabin to protect the crew, all-terain caterpillar tracks to help navigate unforgiving terrain, and intimidating firepower to overcome the enemy.
