A beautiful view of the archaeological area of the Roman Theater in the medieval town of Gubbio, in Umbria. The amphitheater, completed by the magistrate Gneo Satrio Rufo around 20 BC. in the ancient nucleus of Iguvium (the Roman name of Gubbio), it was built with large limestone blocks worked in rustic ashlar. It has two orders of arches, of which the lower order and some arches corresponding to the upper gallery remain standing. An important town ally of Ancient Rome and built on the communication routes between the Tyrrhenian coast and the Adriatic coast of Italy, Gubbio is famous for its artistic treasures and considered one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy. This Umbrian town is also known for the life of St. Francis of Assisi and the miracle of the encounter between him and a wolf, and for the spectacular Festa dei Ceri. The majestic Flavian Amphitheater, known as the Coliseum due to a colossal statue that stood nearby, was built in the 1st century AD. at the behest of the emperors of the Flavian dynasty, and hosted, until the end of the ancient age, shows of great popular appeal, such as hunting with exotic animals and gladiator games. According to data collected from the reservations of visitors and tourists by Trip Advisor, this Coliseum was one of the most visited monument in the world. The Jubilee Column is a 30 meter high column, commemorating the 25th anniversary (1841) and the 60th birthday of king Wilhelm I. von Württemberg in 1846. Building started in 1842 after design by architect was Johann Michael von Knapp and in 1846 it was finished. The statues and reliefs were made by the sculptor Theodor Wagner. The statues represent the four estates; three of the four reliefs represent the king's military successes against Napoleon Bonaparte, only one is devoted to a political event. In 1863 a 5 m high statue of Concordia by Ludwig von Hofer was placed on the top.  The Dominant Building is Ministry of Economics, Labor and Tourism Baden-Württemberg as part of the New Palace In Stuttgart.
