Nijmegen, The Netherlands, July 22, 2015: The Four Day Marches Nijmegen, also known as Vierdaagse is the largest marching event in the world. It is organised every year in Nijmegen in mid-July as a means of promoting sport and exercise. Participants walk 30, 40 or 50 kilometers daily, and on completion receive a royally approved medal (Vierdaagsekruis). The participants are mostly civilians, but there are also a few thousand military participants.

It was built in 1825-1849 by design of architect Hans Linstow. The equestrian statue of Karl XIV Johan by the Norwegian sculptor Brynjulf Bergslien was unveiled on September 7, 1875. Lenk im Simmental, Switzerland - May 12, 2013: The Jodlerklub Lenk performs at the Jodlertag Lenk 2013 in a Sunday performance.  The men stand with their hands in their pockets as is the custom.  They are wearing traditional Bernese Trachten vests, and the lead woman singer is also dressed in a local Tracht.  A child sits on the stage up close and watches.   The event takes place in a large tent owned and set up by the town of Lenk.  All are welcome.  The organizers accept voluntary modest donations to cover the expenses of the event.
