Flowers of the Cuncuna (Phacelia brachyanta), known in Chile as the “Té de Burro” (Tea of the Mule), growing in the foothills of the Andes Mountains near Santiago de Chile. The species is a member of the Boraginales family and, in common with many of its relatives, possesses irritating hairs that can cause skin reactions in more sensitive people. They are a favourite source of nectar and pollen for bees.

Tall, green, not mealy perennial; stems erect, hairy. Basal leaves oval to oblong, with a heart-shaped base, long stalked, dark green above, paler beneath, thinly hairy; upper leaves smaller, almost unstalked.
